Love and other stuff...

I arrived back in Australia this morning. For those of you that don't know I headed back to my home state of Michigan on August 10th in order to celebrate the wedding of a most beloved friend.  It was a wonderful event full of happy tears shed by many. To be at a wedding where love abounded so freely - it was hard not to walk away feeling all warm and fuzzy inside, not only because of the love between the bride and the groom but the love for the bride and groom from all the family and friends present.  I'm glad I was there to witness it.

The rest of my time back in the States were spent mostly hanging out family and friends and enjoying their company. 

So, here I sit, back in Oz reminiscing about my trip filled with bittersweet emotions.  I guess when your heart belongs to both people and places on opposite sides of the world - coming and going will always be filled with a treasure trove of emotions.  Happy to see the people and places you are going - and sad to see the other go.

While standing in the customs line at Sydney Airport I couldn't help but feel sad thinking, "This is it. Your trip is over." while the dejected image of the goodbye to my Dad at the airport in Grand Rapids ran through my head.

Once through customs the excitement of seeing my Love awaiting me on the other side filled my heart.
